Who We Insure

Insurance for Child Care & After School Programs

When your organization is responsible for someone else’s child, abuse and molestation coverage stops being optional — and it is the coverage most carriers decline to write. We place it.

The Specifics

What actually goes
wrong here.

01

Responsibility for other people's children

This is the defining exposure of the sector, and the one a standard general liability policy specifically excludes.

02

Field trips and off-site activity

Off-site programming moves children into vehicles and venues you do not control — the coverage needs to be in place before the season starts, not after a claim.

03

Volunteers and part-time staff

High turnover and volunteer help mean the people supervising children are not always on your payroll, which affects both liability and injury coverage.

How We Work

We read the contract
before we quote it.

Since 1986 we have placed coverage for the organizations that care for people across California — nonprofit and for-profit alike. That means reading the funding contract, the lease and the program description before we go to market, so the policy matches how you actually operate.

We also include free unlimited access to HR specialists, and we don’t charge a broker fee with most of our insurance programs.

Questions

Questions we
get asked.

Screening reduces risk but does not eliminate it, and it does not fund a legal defense. The coverage pays to defend the organization even when an allegation proves unfounded.
It depends which coverage you mean. They can be added as additional insured under general liability, and a volunteer accident policy covers them if they are injured helping.
That is non-owned auto exposure for the organization. It should be discussed before the trip, not after.
