Who We Insure

Insurance for Services for the Disabled

Organizations serving people with disabilities carry a duty of care most carriers do not fully understand. We read the regional center or county contract before we go to market.

The Specifics

What actually goes
wrong here.

01

Contract-driven requirements

Regional center and county contracts often demand specific limits and endorsements before you serve a single client. Getting the endorsement wrong can stall a contract.

02

Duty of care to dependent adults

Your staff support people who may be unable to advocate for themselves. Allegations of mistreatment are handled very differently from an ordinary liability claim.

03

Transport and community outings

Staff driving clients to appointments and activities creates auto exposure that often sits outside the vehicles the organization actually owns.

How We Work

We read the contract
before we quote it.

Since 1986 we have placed coverage for the organizations that care for people across California — nonprofit and for-profit alike. That means reading the funding contract, the lease and the program description before we go to market, so the policy matches how you actually operate.

We also include free unlimited access to HR specialists, and we don’t charge a broker fee with most of our insurance programs.

Questions

Questions we
get asked.

Yes — send us the contract. We read the insurance requirements first and build the program to satisfy them, rather than quoting a generic policy and hoping it matches.
It is worth discussing. Most standard General Liability policies exclude abuse and molestation entirely, and organizations supporting dependent adults carry real exposure here.
That is non-owned auto exposure. It protects the organization when an employee drives on your behalf, and it is separate from the employee’s own policy.
