Who We Insure

Insurance for Group Homes

Residential care runs around the clock, in a real building, with real staff, for people who depend on you entirely. That combination is where coverage most often turns out to be thinner than anyone thought.

The Specifics

What actually goes
wrong here.

01

Twenty-four-hour responsibility

Residential care means there is no point in the day where supervision stops. Claims can arise from any shift, including the ones with the fewest staff on duty.

02

Allegations involving residents

Abuse and molestation coverage is central here, not optional — and it is excluded from most standard general liability policies.

03

The building itself

You own or lease a property that is occupied continuously. Property, habitability and premises liability all run together in a way they do not for an office-based organization.

How We Work

We read the contract
before we quote it.

Since 1986 we have placed coverage for the organizations that care for people across California — nonprofit and for-profit alike. That means reading the funding contract, the lease and the program description before we go to market, so the policy matches how you actually operate.

We also include free unlimited access to HR specialists, and we don’t charge a broker fee with most of our insurance programs.

Questions

Questions we
get asked.

Licensing sets a floor, not a ceiling. Regulators confirm you meet standards; insurance funds the defense and the loss when an allegation is made anyway.
Almost certainly not — most standard forms exclude it. It has to be placed separately or through a specialty program, which is what we do.
That is worth reviewing against your property policy specifically. It is a common gap in residential programs and is better identified before a claim than after.
